Stock48, can you do a side view shot between the TC and the PT88 so I can see the height difference?

After looking at things more closely last night, as long as it's not TOO much taller, I can probably shoe horn the PT88 in there. I'd probably have to stick with a 3" DP though, don't think I can get anything bigger through there.

Every time I look at your sig it makes me want to go with the 88. We have very similar setups and I'm about 600lbs lighter. How's it drive on the street between the TC and the PT88? I know with my TC I can be in OD on the highway and have boost instantly @ 2000rpm.

Sorry I couldn't post the pic. I tried but I've been having probs with the forum. My computer shuts down as soon as I log on. You need a good 1.5" inch of extra clearence for the pt88 to fit. As far as lag the pt88 is liveable but not instant like I like for dd. It spools about 6-800RPM later at least but when it hits it hits hard. 20psi on the street will blow off all 4 tires on my truck at a 30mph roll. I imagen it would easily trap pretty high if you pushed it in your car. I have been 145mph on the taller street tires pulling 4wd running gear, and a barn door lol.

Haha, your truck sounds soo sick. Thanks for all of the info along the way.

I ended up buying a PT7875 over the weekend. I should have it by next weekend. Was too good of a deal to pass up. I guess we'll see what happens! I'll have a TC76 up for grabs within a week or two if anyone is interested!

7875 is a HUGE step up over the TC76, with almost the same spool. Im not a fan of the TCs they have way too much backpressure, good pick

I'm hoping it's enough to get me into the 140s considering I'm mid 130s on the TC76.

I will add this here Kyle

when i had the TC78 and 4psi springs on my MVS 38 WG's......... with the gates completely unhooked from any reference I could only build 8-9psi before drive pressure opened them alone

now with the 78gts and the exact same WG setup and springs i can easily turn to 12+ while still having a reference hooked up...... haven't tried but i am sure it would now build 15 with no reference hooked up at all before drive pressure would open the gates

that just shows how much relief in drive pressure there is going from the F1-68 turbine to the 75mm GTS turbine.... and yet spool is not much different, unlike it would be if you went to something like the PT88

Yea I'm really hoping that this will be the perfect trade off between spool and power for me.

It's the Garrett GT76 budget unit stuffed in my precision T4 exh housing from the pt88. Yes it's 76mm compressor, 94mm turbin.

this may sound dumb but what is the benefit of doing that? wont it still be just as laggy as the pt88 ?

Should spool quicker than the 88 because of the smaller comp. Less mass to get moving?

Because Im going to be running a class with a 76mm limit. Also I like to try and make my power with limited heads, turbo, and mild setup. It's a little laggy but spools way quicker than the Pt88. Remember tho Im running at 6000' elv, and 8500' Da. Most setups spool 1000-1500 rpm later here and loose 12-15% power. Kpa is 78-80.

Yes that and the wheel is so much lighter. I haven't even turned this thing up yet at 20psi and sealevel you will be looking at another 200-250hp at least.
