Alot of the power and phone lines down here are not working as I'm sure you can imagine. I work with AT&T and we've sent alot of people and more to go soon as I'm sure you can imagine. The turbo that went through Tuscaloosa was on the ground 70+ miles. It was awful.

Yes they did . Earlier that morning they had some 100 mph straight line winds in Birmingham and the Tuscaloosa areas. Then the sun came out and it warmed up into the 80s. All the weather people were saying that it was going to be really bad, having the atmosphere warmed that much. Then they came out and said that the tornado was coming and had it narrowed down pretty close to where it hit. People knew, but no one expected it to be as bad as it was. Tuscaloosa is the home to The University of Alabama so there were 30k+ students plus the other residents in and around that area. 15th and McFarland the area that has gotten the most play in the news was a very busy intersection and less than a mile from Bryant Denny Stadium and Coleman Coliseum. As was said yesterday imagine if that storm would have hit a couple Saturday's ago when the A Day game was played and 101k+ where on hand to watch it. As bad as it was, it is a huge blessing it wasn't much much worse.

This makes more sense, I've been waiting for a v-band issue to be resolved by them and hadn't heard from them, I didn't even realize they were in Alabama. I feel better knowing I'm not getting screwed over but concerned about their conditions and safety now!

We were told they were going to send construction crews out there first to get the infrastructure back together and then send the I&M crews (me) right after to get the services working.

On their website, it says that they are located in Eva, AL which is pretty far from Tuscaloosa. Not sure if they saw any damage at all up there. Can't find anything in Google News about it.
