Which head gaskets??

Im boosting my 383 LT1 with 9.5to1.. The heads were sent off to get work done thats why im looking on what to go with..

I was told to do a Cometic 4.040 at .036 but i thought you couldnt use a Cometic unless your block was freshly machined which mine isn't with 5k worth or driving on it but the heads will be fresh.

I just dont want to put 15lbs or more to this engine and **** a head gasket..

Any thoughts?
