Default Procharger 3.5 to front mount

Procharger says I will gain boost switching from 3.5 to the front mount intercooler if I throw 317's on it will I get much gain doing this and how much I lose due to the 317's . I am at psi on a stock ls1 with a z06 cam.

I justmade the switch from 3.5 too a Fmic I'll let u know when I get my boost gauge hooked back up what the difference in psi is. I would think you would loose a small amount of psi

I recently switched from the 3.5" inch IC's to an EPP FMIC kit and dropped a half second off of my 1/4 mile and gained 3 mph.

You wont gain anything by going to 317s, but you will gain from adding extra timing in due to less risk of detonation from the lower CR.

You should gain boost in the intake manifold (where the boost gauge is measured). You will have less restriction in the pipes before the IC, so there will be less boost there, but it is not measured there. Anyways, bottom line is that you will most likely gain some boost where it matters.

Thats really an irrelevant question. A more suitable question would be "how much hp & tq did you gain". But his statement is the best answer to the question. Boost, hp, tq... it all boils down to how much faster its going to make the car, and how much better your car will perform. Remember, boost is just a measurement of restriction. And HP/ TQ is for the dyno queens. Real world cares about end results. This is what he gave you! You should be thrilled with his results, that is a very significant gain!

I gained no boost. My gauge still reads around 8-9psi at 6600rpm it depends on if its cold outside or warm. I actually have not re-tuned since adding the FMIC. My a/f ratio is the same but like Chevy Chad said I beleive it flows better and more free plus the IAT's are more consistent now before the meth sprays. With the 3.5" IC's the IAT's would be very high until my meth started spraying and after the run I could touch the stock twins and they would be very warm to the touch. Now I just need to get a bigger head unit instead of this P1SC.
