Default New Personal Best ET

Last time I went to the track in the fall of last year I went a 10.33 @ 130. I knew my setup had more to give and the tune could use a little leaning out. Went back to the track this Saturday & ran a 10.09 @ 134.27 with a 1.46 60' on 13.5#'s on 275 Hoosier DR's (3632# with me). I really think it would have went 9's but I was having issues with my wideband not logging after the first pass so I couldnt adjust the A/F (it was fat anyway). Also the car was pulling the wheels & kind of bogging so I knew I needed to leave a little harder but for some unknown reason the 2 step would only let me leave @ 3500, when I set it all the way up to 3900. Anyway, stock motor is still hanging on strong & I actually got a an even higher trap speed of 135.52 on one of my 10.1 passes.

I plan on going back in the fall with no changes other than figuring out why my 2 step wont let me leave any higher.

I've been thinking about why it wouldnt rev past 3500, and I'm pretty sure the converter may be too tight. Gonna talk it over with my converter guy and see if he thinks loosening it up will be the cure.

Add in some timiing on the footbrake, it will help bring it up on the converter. Seems like guys says anywhere from 30-40 degrees. Always a good feeling to set new personal best, congrats!

Thanks. I can only get it to foot brake to 2000 and just get out of vacuum, if I add more timing in on the foot brake do you think it would push my converter further once I get on the brake? Right now it refuses to go higher than 3500 and even though I have the boost set for 13# it spikes higher @ around 15# but drops to the correct amount once the car starts moving.

I was shooting for 11.6 but my HPT interface wouldnt record the AFR after the first pass. Thats weird because I connected my laptop to the interface a few minutes ago and its seeing the wide band and my fuel pressure gauge through the interface, it just wont stand alone log those inputs for some reason.

Thanks.
I have never had a problem logging aux's until now, my interface (by its self) has always logged auxiliary inputs with no issues. Leaning it out helped a little but adding timing in, 1 degree at a time helped too.

That's awesome Hummer. Except the transbrake/2-step/convertor thing.
Congratulations.

Yes Phil on here has stated that while on the converter he shoots for 12.5-12.8 AFR and anywhere from 30-40 degrees of timing to help get up on the converter. You want to make as much N/A torque as possible before you get into boost.

I did a few months ago when I tuned a ford, I forgot all about that, thanks for reminding me.

Ok, Ill give it a try. I tried the trans brake last night without the 2 step just to make sure I didnt have a defective 2 step & it hung @ 3500 for a while and then all of the sudden flashed up to 4200. I don't think its the 2 step but I have to get it tuned to bring in the boost way faster, it took 6 seconds to get it to make 4200. Also I need to figure out why the boost is spiking when on the brake, I saw 18# once the rpm hit 4200.
