help me pic my turbo.

Default help me pic my turbo.

Well I think I have my tc76 sold. And will be ordering a new turbo soon... right now I am leaning towards the st80 with billet wheel and 1.10 ar. Dr turbo says 9s will be no problem for my setup and that turbo.. here is a run down.
04 gto hope to stay under 4000 lbs
Forged 347. And va speed turbo cam
Goin to run afr heads. 225s or 230s if. I buy them new.
4l80e. 3400 circle d verter... gforce engineering rear end parts and coilover kit...
The goal is to go strong 9s in the car. And get in the mid 140s trap speed.

Give me ur input guys. Think I am on the right track for the turbo... seems to be a good size and not to huge. But makes big power and spools decent..

This is goin to still be a street car but will not be a daily driver so I still want some good spool...

Yeah you're tc is sold
It will fit real nice under my Jimmy.

I didn't think you had room for a BW???

If you were closer, I'd let you try my CompTurbo 80mm.
It's 10.25 long and 8.125 round on the compressor with 79mm T4.
Little expensive compared to a box BW.
I'll post a pic of it next to the TC when I get it.

They make a PT80 along with the PT88.

well i goin with the "it WILL fit" and it WILL go nines....

i will make it fit some how..
got the TC sitting here at work with me so i can bubble wrap the hell out of it...

Also from what I have seen on here. The pt88 isn't much smaller the the st80... and from what I have seen. St80 should make the power and spooler quicker...

After talking with modular turbo... he has me looking at the turbonetics. Mid frame 82mm compressor f1 75mm turbine wheel turbo.. looks like an amazing unit comes with ball bearing and all....

Any input on this guys...

I am super pleased with his customer service so I will be buying from him. ..

See that's what I'm having trouble finding. I think the hp78 (mid frame 78). Is rated at 1200.. I think the 82 is about 1500... having trouble finding info. He said I should have a problem goin 9s with it at 4k lbs.

Look on Forced Inductions -they have HP ratings.
-82mm won't do 1500-

S480 w/87 mm turbine will do mid 9's at 140+ in 4400lb full size truck.
-383 gen 2 with afr 195's, shifts at 6500. 234/234 108 lsa, carb'd single plane

NicD does low 9's in his Fbody with 76GTS.

Look up Perdieu, he went high 9's on a 76gts in his gto and wasn't even leaning on it. If you have it setup correctly I'd think a precision 76(billet) would get you there and fit a lot easier.

Travis - I still think the 76GTS is a hell of a turbo for a more compact setup. We've both seen under the hood of that thing. You did say you wanted AC and it to be a "street" car, remember? lol

Just want to make sure I got the the fireturd covered also...

Got to make sure its ready for a bigger motor... everything else will be good want to make sure the motor is also....

We will shoehorn a good size unit in there

lol, you've got it covered with the 4.8. 370, not sure... I do have almost 1000lbs on you lol. Not including my fatass (of course).

Precision 76HPSH Billet with a 75mm turbine, and .96 AR. Keep most of your turbo kit, as only the compressor housing is slightly larger with a 3" discharge.

Kit isn't built yet. Its goin to be built with what ever turbo I get.....

Why not go a bit bigger
