Default Truck Manifolds Problems

Hey I am putting a 4.8 into my 89 Camaro and I've read that there are some issues on the passenger side with the manifolds not fitting right facing forward. I also am having a problem fitting my truck P/S / alternator bracket on the engine with the manifolds in the way. Can I flip the manifolds upside down?? I will be using a cowl and truck intake

You need to switch to the fbody accessories to have the manifold fit correctly without it interfering with the PS bracket. Im not sure how much room youd have to flip them up.

I'm hoping not to buy the fbody accessories because that's a lot of money right there. I'm not running a/c. Can I just get a p/s / alternator bracket from the fbody and use the truck water pump?

I'd like to just flip the manifolds around if that's possible and have them come out the top

I believe the truck and fbody accessories have different spacing so the belt have a hard time staying on :p you might be able to shim it though.

Could give the flipping a try, atleast its free to give it a shot.

It works fine, just looks a little funky. I moved the alternator down low on the passenger side with a custom bracket and idlers but the regular truck mount will work fine. You will have to move the coils and use custom wires. I use LT1 wires from Jegs for cheap.
This picture is kind of dark but you get the idea. You can check out more specifics at:

In the stock location the plug wires are close to the manifolds. I've seen people use them as is but you will need heat sleeves for sure then.
