corvette power steering pulley options?

Default corvette power steering pulley options?

i have a lsx procharger kit in a g body olds. swap project. problem is that the pulley that originally came on a 05 and newer corvetter ps pump is too big and it hits my steering box. so now my thoughts are.........has anyone had any luck using an fbody ps pump with a remote reservoir? is it possible to weld a tube onto the fbody pump like the one the corvette pump has for a remote reservoir? is the gto pump any different than the corvette or fbody pump?

if none of these pump/pulley combinations are a possibility, i wonder if i would have to/be able to have a custom pulley made. i would think that would be the slowest and most expensive option.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

i dont know if i have a sol'n. but this is what i am going to try first. i'm going to test the fbody pump with the corsica pulley to make sure it will fit. i think it will. if it does, i will tap the reservoir fitting on the pump for a 1/2 inch pipe thread and then get a pipe fitting that will allow me to run flex hose to a reservoir. if this works i think it would be the easiest and cheapest solution. any thoughts? i'll post what i find out. i imagine other people have had this problem too, or will.

on a side note, it is frustrating that ati doesnt have more solutions/knowledge about their own product.

Belt alignment is different on a corvette vs f-body and gto. Don't know if that will make a diff if you install into the corvette bracket though.

I used a Jegs remote reservoir for mine. Had a shop make me some hydraulic line from the reservoir to the pump and have not had any problems.

i have the fbody pump and corsica pulley installed. plenty of pulley clearance, and the pulley looks to be lined up with the crank pulley. i tapped the pump also, but the threaded fitting doesnt thread in very easily. as long as it doesnt leak i guess that is all that matters. i'm not sure why it doesnt thread in very well though. i used a 1/2 inch pipe thread tap and the corresponding fitting of course. i should be able to just use rubber hose now and run it to a reservoir.

so it looks like my original idea is not going to work. the hub of the corsica pulley onthe fbody pump sticks out too far forward. looks like im back to getting a custom pulley to fit on the corvette pump.

I'd have thought a custom pulley be very cheap ?

Every single one of my blower pulleys has been custom made, in various diameters. And I certainly wouldnt say any of them were expensive. ASP made most of my ribbed blower pulleys.

Although my newer cog setup was made locally. And even then was very good value.
