what 2-step?

Default what 2-step?

I am looking at geting a 2-step to help me build boost on the line.
What should I get the MSD 2-step or LPE 2-step or the LEP 2-step stage 2?
the MSD looks easey to intsall/use but does not have timeing retard. can hp tuners help with that?
The LEP might mess with my tune if I dont have for the dyno.
I know I need to get rid of the 4.10's.

I know LPE is coming out with a new model of their 2 step. Suppose to have a clutchless shift mode or something of that nature. I might sell my old one and pick up that one.

So hold WOT the hole race? The LEP should cut spark between shifts? I bet the fire ***** are awsome.

Reading HP Tuners forums every one is saying I need to use the LEP to retard the timeing to build more boost. You can make one useing the VSS and fuel cut off but thats a bad idea to me. My meth should keem my EGTs down

you can no lift shift (wot shift) with there current 2 step,
but i highly doubt that there going to make it somehow to have clutchless shifts unless they included a faceplated trans and a slipper clutch with there two step now lol

Get the LPE 2step w/ timing retard. It's super easy to install.
I have it on my PT80 rear mount vette and I set the rev to 3k rpm and foot brake it and then trigger the timing retard. I've been able to achieve 6#s at the line so far and ran a 9.86@136mph. It did spin and my 60ft was only 1.55 but w/o the LPE box it was like 1.85 60ft cause no boost until I hit like 20mph. LOL

ps-Check your meth kit wiring, cause on my AlkyControl setup I have a grey wire that I ground when I activate the 2step to prevent my meth from coming on while staging. Otherwise you are wasting your time trying to spool turbo while dumping meth.

The msd box will definitely let you build boost on the line i'm running one on my truck, went from not even 6lbs on the foot brake to over 8lbs on the box.

I have the msd. It allows me to build boost, but I don't know about these guys but mine takes several more seconds than I care for to do so.

The meth will not let it spool? any more info your wiring?

I have the same problem. I just ordered a MSD 2 step, but now hearing about the LPE 2 step even the 1st gen one sounds better with it's ability to pull timing.

The MSD has rotary dials, I'm guessing the LPE does too?

I have a trans brake also, but I am afraid now it's going to take me forever to stage with this thing.

Would I and the OP be better off with the LPE? And I am trying to get the car together by July 14th, so if the MSD will work till then, in a ok fashion I am ok with that until it pisses me off enough.

And it isn't that the meth won't allow the turbo to spool, it's the fact that methanol richens up the tune, so if your dumping meth while your staging the engine is just going to bog and possibly cut out due to being too rich.

im also looking for one. Witch one can you make the car start to back fire while on the trans brake and two step?

MSD 2 step with a 6 speed here and I have no problem building 4-6 lbs of boost. The LPE one I've seen back fires like crazy and is really violent. The msd is much smoother. I haven't had to pull timing at all but why not just pull timing with hp tuners, it's pretty simple.

^^ What was your 2 step set at in that vid? I have mine at 5k and can on build about 1 lb of boost :-/ Thinkin about gettin the LPE 002 with timing retard, I have the 003.

It was set at 5000 rpm, but I can build 1-2 lbs at 3000 rpm. At 4000 it's around 3-4 and anything above 5000 I can launch off the waste gate spring 7lbs.

Since so many of us are wanting a 2 step, maybe a vendor could step in with a group buy and we could all save a few bux?
