Default Race vs standard plugs?

Is there any difference between race plugs and standard. For example, NGK race R5671A-7 vs NGK BR7EF or R5671A-8 vs B8EFS. On the NGK site all they say is that their race and standard plugs are built the same. Once you get into the 8 heat range they are all non-resistor.

Here's a pic of a racing 9 on the left vs a TR6. Anyone have a pic of a BR7EF or a B8EFS

Left is a non projected tip. A BR7EF looks identical to it. The one on the right is a projected tip. Non projected tips sometimes work better for boosted apps. They do for me.

I have some pics of the BR7EFS, B8EFS, AR474, and AR94 plugs at home. I'll try to dig them up later tonight/tomorrow but I much prefer non-projected tips in bigger power builds.

I managed to find some BR7EF plugs locally. Just picked them up. As stated by NicD, the tip is the same as the 9's shown above. Going to give them a shot for street use. Might need something colder for 20 psi 1/4 mile runs.

Yeah, I would be running something colder at that power level for sure which means non-resistor non-projected. Either way make a pass or two and read the plug right afterwards and it should tell all.

Whats the difference between the BP7EFS and the BR7EF? I have the BP's in now and I'm not 100% sure if their the best for what I'm trying to do. NGK's website sucks lol

So I should probably run the non projected BR7EF? Because the porcelain is recessed, it retains less heat correct?

ive looked around and found little to no info on plugs compared to what i already know, does anybody know a source of extensive info on all kinds of plugs, how to read em, what the applications are, etc?
