Any motor that's not tuned properly can be hurt, even running e85 or race fuel.

But....E85 tends to be a bit more forgiving than pump gas, many would even say its more forgiving that race gas in certain applications...

How much power were you making?

Weak pistons can break without detonation, best fuel in the world can't help that

we know that, and we never blamed anything but MY OWN greed. LOL.

No clue on power, never dyno'd or tracked it. Just fun street car.

Again, we know it was too much for her. We were having fun. lol

Piston ringlands can only handle so much pressure, which is torque, before they crack. Supposedly that limit is in the range of 500-550 ft/lbs of torque before they let go. I'm hoping to keep my car alive for a year or so till I can do a new shortblock.

it also would depend on the "load" as well... a lighter car with less street driving and 1/8th mile hits would probably live longer than a big car making hwy runs or 1/4 hits... just what ive noticed from browsing

I would agree with this, as i know a couple Fox swaps that ran equal setup with the same boost and lived a hell of a lot longer then i did, my damn 4000lb car didnt help, LOL!

Thats why im buying an RX7 next week sub 3000lb car

I don't see how in the world E85 would cause that. Cylinder walls where fine in my motor after 100-130 mid to low 8 second passes on E85 on this past motor and the motor before that went high to mid 8's and the same amount of passes and came apart looking brand new.

interesting i asked this yesterday as i windowed my motor on e85 last night looking for a 5 second pass after running a 6.04 and a 6.07

apparently e85 does not save your motor when you forget to put fuel in the tank and run it lean on 15psi and 7500 rpms. lol
