those running 5.3's
Tip the engine so the spark plug hole is basically the highest point of the cylinder
Loosen the 2 rockers on the cylinder so the valves are closed.
Get the cylinder close to top dead center and fill with fluid (light oil or trans fluid.)
cycle slowly past tdc and the excess will run out (this leaves the combustion chamber volume left in the cyl.
Turn the crank 180 and fill with 600cc of fluid
If you are full or close to full its a 4.8.
If you can add another 65cc you have a 5.3
This would beat having to change a perfectly good head gasket just to figure out what you have.
