I am curious if anyone is running a Garrett GT4202R turbo on their LS motor? I purchased a 4.8L LY5 out of a '07 silverado to put into a Jag XK8. I am thinking this may not be a good idea for me because I dont want to put all the other stuff into the car that you need to run 1000hp and to be safe doing it.
I am curious tho if anyone is running one on and LS motor, and if so I would be very interested on any feed back.
TIA: Jason

the gt 4202:
compressor: 74.7mm x 102.3mm the "02" in 4202 comes from 102mm compressor
turbine: 82mm
gt4294: 67.8mm x 94mm the "94" in 4294 comes from the 94mm compressor
turbine: 77mm
so the "02" has bigger wheels on both intake and exhaust than the "94". Keep in mind though that Garrett identifies compressor wheels by the exducer which is the overall diameter of the wheel. Damn near every other turbo builder identifies compressor wheels by the inducer, which is basically the smaller part of the wheel that you can see with the housing on.
the "02" also runs a bigger turbine wheel.
Im not 100% sure but I believe the GT42 part is like a package size. It will have the "42" compressor housing, center section, and turbine housing. So a GT40xx is a smaller overall turbo than a GT42xx, which is smaller than a GT45xx
The "R" at the end of GT4202R means its the dual ball bearing version
