Default Stripped coolant sensor

I am not sure where to put this post, so mods feel free to move it to the correct topic. I was putting in my last sensor on my car, and I guess I tighten it to much, because it broke off in the head.
What is should look like

What it does look like

Question is, do I have to take the head off and then take it to a shop for them to drill it out and retap it? Or what would be the best soulution. They are stock 317 heads. Really hoping to not have to buy another head. Any input is great.

Get an "ease out" thats what we call them here at work. They have reverse threads and screw into the broken part and tighten up till it breaks free and un threads out of the hole. No biggie at all, like 30 second job. Make sense...

Like he said I would try an "easy out" first. Depending on your skill you can also use a small cold chisel and back it out possibly. The main problem is that the brass and aluminum are both soft metals. Did you use thread sealant or thread locker?

I just used plumbers putty. not a thread locker at all. I will look into the ease out and see if I can do it.

the ones we use here at work are round on the the threaded end and hex shaped for a wrench on the other. The brand name is HANSON. I know thery are called extractors but dont know if they are pipe extracotrs or what specific name they have but I guarantee they will work. I just use a small hammer to tap them into place and when the rotate counter clockwise and bite just put a wrench on it and your done son...
