Power, reliabilty, driveablity how?
All this being said im looking at something like Stage 2 H/C package from one of our many sponsors or something like a Procharger or a vortech? Turbos are interesting but they seem to be to much custom wotk for to much$$$$
thanx for any info
also i plan on eventually having both does it really matter which one is first?
Price, H/C is going to be significantly cheaper. At least half as much to reach the 450 rwhp level.
Power, S/C can deliver as much power as you want, H/C is limited to ~500 RWHP without bore and stroking the engine. Just remember whatever you can do to a H/C car you can do to a Blower car(ie H/C, bore and stroke)
Less punishing ride, The S/C will drive exactly like your current setup, but once you drop the hammer, watch out! You'll need a very aggressive, very unstreetable cam to match the power of a 8# ATI or Vortech. But again this goes back to your desired power level. If you only want 400 rwhp, then Stage II heads and mild cam will easily get you there at a fraction the cost. 500rwhp is another story.
Most FI want it all which is why you see so few stripper FI cars and so many N/A and N2O cars going that route. Few people will invest this kind of money in a car that has no luxuries.
Doing both is not a bad idea. The Blower will get you instant attention
Plus is a good idea to get the blower first, that way when you get the H/C you can lower your C/R for more boost and CFM.Mike
