Default Power steering delete and Alt relocation, belt?

I am in the process of fabbing up a single 88, I have deleted PS and relocating the alternator. Does anyone know what size belt I can run, and if I need to run a pulley in place of the PS or not?

Thanks in advance,

Kev D

I didn't use a pulley in place of the p.s. There wasn't much wrap on the water pump but it never slipped or threw the belt. I can't recall the belt size. I used a string to get a measurement, bought about 6 that were close, used the one that fit, then returned the rest.

Ya I'm trying to figure out the same thing, my alt is up top now and if I take my ps pump off it looks like it won't hit the water pump like it should. The string idea is good, ill use it.

50in belt worked out perfect for me, it has enough contact on the water pump where it wont slip.
