When the cast reaches that point it is impossible to weld.
Not sure where you heard this... it is 100% false. Corrosion on the other hand.... but sand that off so its shiny and there is no problem.

Precision police

I should have worded it like this "it is more of a pain in the *** to weld not impossible"

For what it's worth I had a set done 4 years ago. Ran them on my car for 2 years at 600rwhp ABUSED all the time, as in glowing lol. And 2 years on tire_fryins10s twin turbo zephyr(creamdream) that goes 8.55@160 now. Been in the 8s for 2 years. Daily driven and abused to hell aswell!!

Done locally, not modular but they have a weld procedure so I have confidence and I'm sure they will offer a warranty?

It will be either Dynatech or RPS.

Just throwing this out there, is there enough meat on the stock manifold flange to mill the v band profile onto the end? Has anyone done that before? Seems like you could re-face the end as well if a slightly different angle was desired to clear an obstacle.

That would be a job for a horizontal CNC mill.
We don't have one of those. Our mill vertical.
You can tie up $400.00-$500.00 maybe more just in fixtures not to mention the man hours in the programming.

Just try to get paid for that!

Would be a big investment in time for sure, tooling too. One of those things you would need a pile of them sold before you could even think about tooling up for. Sometimes I wish I still worked at my machinist job, the work they gave me often sucked but the government jobs were a lot of fun, made a lot of cool stuff on my lunch breaks

With you being a machinist you can see the investment it would take to do something like this.

I could too, it would be fine for anyone who has the time and access to the mill but even then, the amount of work it would take to set it up and cut it would be substantially more than just welding the V-band on.

Ive been talking with Rob through pm's and Im satisfied that they have the expertise to properly weld the manifolds and from my own expertise I agree that it would be better to start with new manifolds.
