Default T-72 5.3L what A/R?

Well after a couple weeks of staring at the car I finally decided on running a single magnum t-72 with my 5.3L 4l80e monte carlo. I can get a 0.68, 0.81 or 0.96 A/R turbine. Which one is going to work best on a stock 5.3L? At the most i may put a LS6 cam in it, and I have been toying with the idea of making it flex fuel compatible so I could run 85.

I`m not worried about top end power, I know I will make 500+ RWHP no matter which housing. I had been leaning toward the 0.68 so that it will spool quicker, but now that I was reading about it there seems to be a lot of people saying to get a 0.96. Will the .68 choke that motor? Will it be so restrictive that at a 2500rpm cruising speed it kills fuel economy?

I doubt any of the housings will kill fuel economy unless the turbo is spooled at part throttle. If you want a really fast spool then maybe the .81 housing would be fine but I doubt you would be disappointed by the .96. For a street car a little lag is not a bad traction crutch.

The turno van seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqsbqXKLXN0

runs a split housing 72 (.96) on a 5.3 with a zo6 cam, 317's, and a rossler 4l80e.
Its hard to drive out of boost meaning its always on the verge of boost driving easy. I foot brake it to about 14 psi on the line and it runs about 17 or 18 psi on 91 octane with water meth (devilsown) . Figuring its 6300 lb race weight, it makes about 700 awhp. Its a daily driver and boost it instant, just think about it and its there.
It runs 12's....and has for two plus years now.

I do run a quick spool valve on it.......worth about 500 rpm on boost onset. So it runs a tighter convertor (2800).

e 85 would be great, but the van has maxed the turbo....maxed the single 340, and maxed the 60 lb injectors.....so e85 isnt in the cards with out a lot of changes.

If you want a quick spool then the .96 divided or split housing as stated above would probably be the best option.
