243 vs L92

Default 243 vs L92

So I have been running a set of done up 243 heads flow 320 cfm on my ls1, now I'm building a 402ci ls2 with a 88mil turbo and wanted to get some input if it's worth going to a l92 style head or is it not worth it.

The stock l92s flow about the same as your worked 243s. I guess the only advantage would be the larger intake valves,(2.16). Then again if you port those l92s you'll be ahead of the game all around. I have stock l92s on my 402ci with an 88mm Turbo, no dyno numbers yet tho. Cam is 230 238.

If I do the l92s they will be the All Pro's so ya they will out flow the 243's but will performance gains be worth the money I'll have to spend on the new intake and valve train exc...

Instead of spending the money on new intake and valvetrain stuff, you may be better off spending the money on a head with an aftermarket casting. I guess it depends on how hard you're trying to push the motor.

The l92's will lower your compression compared to the 243's so you could run more boost.
