How many Supra guys are running 7s consistently w/ a 6spd?

Lot more torque in a turbo f-body compared to a straight six in a supra at the hit off the line. Breaks a lot more parts even with 2 steps and retarding the timing **** still breaks. Ask MM, he broke I think it was 3 6 spd tranny's in one week when he was pushing 992 to the rear wheels in his 9.8 second pass form. I think his best 60' was a high 1.3x...

Tally you going to LSfest?
Added: Evo462 Do you already have the 4l80e? If so is it built already(valvebody, pan, t brake etc...)? I've got a manual mvb in mine from jake with his pro style t brake. I love being able to 'shift' my gears with my b&m quicksilver shifter and b&m t handle shifter. It's almost like driving a manual without the clutch pedal. I have a 6 spd console in my car with a 6 spd shift boot and people think it's a manual all the time. You won't be able to downshift at low speeds if you set up the pro style brake with fixed line pressure like jakes instructions say to. I have a vaccum pump/modulator hooked to my boost ref. fuel pressure reg. and it adjust line pressure acccording to vaccum/boost. It's awesome to say the least how it shifts at part throttle and at full throttle.

At my age now, I enjoy taking her through the twistys and open highways.
My drag racing days are about gone.
I do enjoy rowing the 6 speeder though.
If I had an automatic in my WS6, I probably would of sold her a long time ago.
Maybe if she had paddle shifters and some nice high performance valving I would enjoy it but, this car was made for a clutch.

Oh ok I see. Well if you ever decide to do it one day, get that vaccum pump/modulator hooked up to a vaccum port of some sort so that you can downshift the tranny like a manual and shift into 1st at speeds under 5mph. I wouldn't advise doing it any faster than that. Some people will say not to or that they cant downshift their tranny till they stop, that's because they have fixed line pressure. It gives you the best of both worlds really, allowing smooth crisp shifts at low speed crusing and as you get more into the throttle the firmer and harder they get. WOT shifting is an experience to say the least, and is smooth as silk that way.

my best pass was back in 2004
346ci, stock ported heads, stock 98 cam, dot tires drove to track, drove home
single disk spec 4 clutch. around 800rwhp at the time.
when i changed turbos and got into the 9xx range i started breaking trans's and never got a clean pass before i wrecked the car.
you definitely don't see many manual trans fi f-bodies doing it. it was particularly difficult back then, and i bet still hard now.

Was it the 2-step that really killed it? I've heard 2 steps and 6 speeds don't go to well together. Hell, all I want are high tens
