dammit to hell just when you think you have bought it all and are done with FI it just keeps on nickel and diming you to damn death haha.... I knew this going in of course but I am still amazed at what it takes to do it right. no wonder peoples motors blow up so fast after these installs, they probably tune it themselves and have no meth and run a 9.3 air fuel with 2 degrees of timing. no gaguges and -30 lbs of fuel pressure while boasting 11lbs of boost and 9 billon horsepower running on 87octane from a metal drum in a barn somewhere.

i am going to keep my shortblock and just replace the pistons and rods and bearings and have the crank keys machined in and balanced....and add heads and ls6 valley covers arp2000's. then get an aster bracket and go for max boost. will have lonnie do a double pumper if i cant handle it. 90-100lb injectors and a cam swap to an actual custom blower cam. new rockers too. and dual valvesprings titanium retainers. should be good for 700+rwhp easily. if you are going 390 you should have gotten an f1r. f1a for a 370. d1 for 347.

If you're staying with 4 bolt per cylinder non o-ringed heads, an F-1A will make all the boost you want to put into the engine.

I had a 408 in the above Z28 with an F-1A at 20 psi of boost. 20 psi is about the limit to what you want to push into good aftermarket non o-ringed four bolt per cylinder heads. An F-1R also uses up a lot more horsepower to run it. Now if you were putting together an engine larger than a 408 that you may want to run a larger blower, just keep in mind the F-1C/F-1R blowers are physically larger in size, and get into the stock radiator location. that was some good driving. let off so as not to bounce on the bumper, got back on it before it came back down too hard, and bounced all the way down the track, and still ran a 9. HAHA. wicked.
