Default s475 too small for 410" stroker???

I got a brand new s475 with the 96mm turbine wheel and 1.32AR turbine housing on a trade. I was thinking of putting in the front of my GTO. I'm concerned the compressor is going to be too small.

Plan is truck manifolds flipped upside down and backwards. Then do a 5" round to 4" oval transition to sneak the downpipe past my frame rail. Then into dual 3" mandrel bent exhaust with an x-pipe and straight through Magnaflow mufflers. I would prefer to run 91 octane gasoline on the street so I can road trip it easier. I'm going to be using a Magnafuel 4303 that I have sitting on the shelf. So E85 can happen if I decide to later. Wiseco -8cc pistons w/ upgraded pins. Wiseco rings(steel top/napier 2nd) are gapped at .022 top and .024 bottom. Wiseco pistons and rings were gapped at their "drag race" setting per their sheet. Their "moderate boost" gap was listed as .020" top and .022" bottom. My WCCH 317 heads have inconel exhaust valves and I'm using LS9 gaskets. Compression is at 10.3:1 and I currently have a 5000 stall in my TH400. Stall is designed to take a 200 hit of nitrous. NA it drops from 7000 to 5700 on the shift.

This car will never have a cage and will only be raced on "street car wars" events at the track when set on kill. Looking to run 15-18 psi max since I have stock casting heads.

Converter is easy enough to get adjusted if necessary.

Well, it will work. The turbine side is obviously fine, the issue, like you mentioned, is the smallish compressor. If it's primarily a street car I think you'll be fine, although at 18 pounds with those heads you'll be close to maxing it if it isn't done already. How fast do you want to go and what does the car weigh?

Car weighs 4000lbs with me in it and 1/2 tank of gas. Probably add another 150 lbs when I add the turbo and piping. As fast as I can with no set goal in place. Will the s475 handle 12-15psi on my motor? I'm sure I'll want to go faster eventually. I just don't know if I should just upgrade it now or wait until later.

There is no reason for it to be too small for your motor. Motor size only affects the powerband on a turbo car.

I saw an S480 in the classifieds section here yesterday for a good price. That turbo should be capable of close to 150 mph with 4200lbs.

If you're planning on going faster eventually you may as well upgrade it now. I think you'll be pretty far off that turbo's map at 18 pounds.
