I just bought mine today. I'm not worried about it. It'll do what I need it till I upgrade next year.

Same here man, $200 5.3 junkyard motor and two $300 turbos, how can you argue that, haha!

More cutting and cleaning up of the engine bay today.. Removed the cowl, still need to put in the patch panel for that. I also removed the fuse boxs/harnesses on the driver side, going to thin those things out and get rid of all the stuff I wont be needing, and tucking it up on the opposite (bottom side) of where it was originally mounted. Also picked up my Water pump for the A2W IC, got my BOV and WG in the mail too.

Cowl in stock form

Me working my magic

After:

Pile of junk removed so far! (AC and heat and all the ducting was gone when i got the car)

went through the under hood body harness tonight, got all the stuff I dont need out for the most part. Tucking the fuse boxes and harness under the driver fender will be next. I've got some pretty crafty ideas on how to do this, i'll probably make a separate thread for that. I'll get some pics up later, my camera is at my house right now. On another note, I sold my kooks setup so i have a decent chunk of change to get some more parts that i need. I got some rod bolts and an ls6 intake coming to me so those are knocked out. Next parts on the list is ABS delete kit, fuel pump and regulator. Trying to get most of that stuff wired up and plumbed while i have the engine out of the car, just makes it easier.

Wire tuck is pretty much done, just need to make a one more bracket, and drill one more hole and it's complete. Here's my moch up to make sure the harnesses will fit once i rerouted them.

Stock plastic mounting buckets for fuse boxes...cut in half and trimmed up

side by side

Area under the old fuse box location, cut away

New cover plate cut out, will have small DZUS fastners for quick access to fuses

Stock "buckets" mated up, this isnt stuctural so the rivets should do just fine.

Fuse boxes in their new location, just strung up till I can make the mounting bracket.

Wires being routed behind the shock, there is about 1" of clearance there so it has plenty of room

Need to drill a hole in the strut tower to feed the wires back into the cockpit. Dont mind the clipped wires, i still need to remove them, but was holding off until i fitted the harness to the car..not looking forward to melting the sealant and getting into that mess

Harness routed under the lower radiator support

And back out to the other side

another angle of the fuse box location

And there you have it, a driver side wire tuck WITHOUT extending the harness. Please keep in mind that this is just roughed in, i will go back and use insulated line clamps to secure it to the body/frame and will cover the wires back up with loom. I am also building a removable enclosure for the fuse boxes so moisture cant get to them. All said and done the ONLY wires that will be remotely visible are the one that have to come out to the headlights , everything else is completely hidden.

Got some more work on the engine done, pulled all of the accessories off, gonna clean up the block and paint it so it looks purty when it grenades LOL. Also a little teaser of the hotside. Its a 2nd hand KYturbo crossover and a pair of manifolds i had off of my old truck. I cleaned the manifolds up and coated them with 2000* paint and also cleaned up the heat shields for them as well, turned out pretty good IMO. Got the speed inc alternator relocation bracket for it and just ordered my rod bolts, TCI SFI flexplate, and some ARP flexplate bolts yesterday. Also cleaned up the LS6 intake thats going on as well.

Turbo showed up today, i wasted no time to go out to the garage and moch everything up just to get a look at it. I will need to rotate the comp housing, as its not aimed anywhere ideal to get to the IC. I was also pleasantly surprised that the .81 exhaust housing is NOT a divided t-4 like the .68's are, one less minor thing i would have had to modify. Just have to get the pan tapped, clean up the block, grab some new gaskets for the water pump swap out the rod bolts and it Should be ready to go in the car this weekend!
