Hey guys, I am considering running a tvs 1900 in my 67 chevelle that has a forged 5.3 with ported heads. I am wanting to make 550-600. It has a 4l80 and 4.10 gears to give a little more info. I can do a turbo but have never messed with that stuff. I figure I can pick up a used tvs unit for about the same price as a good turbo set up. So, my question is can a person make a tvs work with alot less effort? I would like to get this thing ready over this winter.

i assume you would be using a GTO kit. Go over to ls1gto.com a they have lots of exp with TVS units.
Off the top of my head, I think the 1900 might be a little much for a 5.3 but can't say for sure with out more info of all the mods. Belt slip also becomes an issue when looking for that much power.

Well we have made 560 to the tires with one and our cam on a LQ4 in a truck. It had a 80e with 3.73s and 32" tires. I am sure with the right combo 55o to the tires would be a breeze. I think its the perfect sized blower for a 5.3l, I would love to run a 2300 on a 5.3l and make 700+ someday.
