Turbo peeps, step inside...
My car had been on jack stands for about a month and it was only jacked up in the front. I notice oil starting to pool and slightly drip from the space between the turbine housing and the down pipes on both sides. This wasn't really anything new to me as I have seen it before if it sits a while, especially as if its parked on a hill.
Long story short, upon removal of my drivers side turbo manifold, turbo assembly and downpipes, I notice that oil is literally dripping from out of the downpipe....mainly on the drivers side but there is some moist residue in the passenger side, too. This is something I have never seen previously upon teardown.
These turbos are freshly rebuilt and probably don't have 50 miles on them. What I am wondering is this:
-Is this completely abnormal even for it to sit with the front of the car up for 4-5 weeks?
-Could this cause the same symptoms that something like an internal oil leak would cause? ie - 36-40 psi cold start, 10-12 psi hot and it NEVER rises above 25 psi no matter what RPM the car is spun to.
My question is this: if it is leaking past the seal(s), would that cause a low oil pressure issue like described above??
