I was thinking the pt88 would be a good turbo to start with and moving up to mabey to a s91 or something bigger if need be so I think the 408 will fit my needs and the iron block I think is a better option over the alum.... I would rather not do a smaller motor and regret it and need to do it over ... Well see what happens but I really respect ur input !

15 psi on pump gas is pushing it don't you think 01z28?

I had to back my timing off from 17-18* to 16* last night at 15 psi to get rid of a degree of kr I had on top end in 3rd. That was on a 50/50 110/93 mix and meth.

Depends on IAT, true octane of pump fuel, drive psi etc. Not all pump gas is a true 91 or 93 octane, a high IAT from hot ambient temp, or inefficient turbo, or maxing out the turbo on the exhaust side will all help cause detonation. My PT88 has run 16psi on Ca 91 oct with 1 meth jet 16*. Same combo with a Tc76/68 wants to ping past 14psi.

Only problem with that logic is that the S91 is a much larger turbo IIRC that will require you to remake the entire kit. Why not just start with the bigger turbo. IMO, the longer stroke puts the rod deeper in the bottom of the pistons and the to pringland too far up on the piston. Add in all the rocking that you get from the piston coming so far out of the bottom of the hole and it is not all that appealing. You don't need the cubes to make the power with a turbo.

If you don't want to go down on cubes to 370 from 408 maybe you can find a compromise like the 390 from AES. It has a good piston with the ring farther down and your choice of Callies rods and crank.

I would still do the 91 though on an AES 390.

There is also an AES 410. Contact Fraser@AES and he fill you in more about both of them

I'm running a 402 CI iron block with l92 heads and a t6 pt88 1.08 a/r. Also its blow thru carb with fmic, its up to 14 Psi at the moment pump gas 93 and 22° timing at 14 Psi. I haven't dynoed it yet but it bakes the tires on the highway at 70 MPH. I don't think this Turbo is too small at all, its actually a little laggy for my liking, I see full boost by 4k.
