Ok never mind I just did the math on what it would cost in diesel to drive there and back towing the mustang.... Looks like i'll be flying out to watch this time around. $2200.00 not counting tech card and race fuel. I sure do wish I could though.

Sheesh--

I'm working with a roller right now

Just need to install the fuel system, wiring, tranmisson, radiator, engine, and build a turbo kit.

I'm gonna end up around 3300lbs with me in it.

Anyone know if main studs are allowed? I saw head studs were allowed, but it just said stock rods, block, pistons and crank for the short block.

This is a joke. Apparently people dont know what "stock" shortblock means.
So if there is "much aceptance" will forged rods and pistons be stock shortblocks too?
Rod bolts are part of the rotating assembly, rotating assembly is part of the shortblock. If you use aftermarket rod bolts you alter the shortblock from the stock state.... dont need to be a genius to figure that out.

- Permissible bolt-on mods, power adders and fuels

- Aftermarket Cam, Springs and Pushrods allowed

- Aftermarket Head bolts or Studs allowed

- (due to such acceptance) Aftermarket Rod bolts are allowed
- Aftermarket Intakes Allowed

- Any Power Adders or combination there-of. Turbos, Nitrous, Superchargers.

- Any Fuels Allowed... E85, E99, Methanol, Any leaded racing gasoline.

- Any Injection allowed... Carburetor or EFI

- Any Ignition allowed... Factory Computer, Stand-alone or Distributer driven.

Camshaft is in the shortblock as well....but it is also changed out commonly. I would say camshaft would have much more effect than bearings.

Right now, several people are finishing up builds and getting ready so the race will be pushed out a couple months. Some looking at June-July timeframe right now.

This will be an awesome race, just need to get some cars to come out.

Also need to discuss 1/4 or 1/8 mile???

So lets start a list of who is gonna come race. Several stock shortblock guys are real fast and should be easy money!! We are running a new car that has 0 passes on it so just hope it gets down the track. On ebay ordering parts now

SWEET! Going to the junkyard today to pick up a motor. 120k should have the ring gap right where I want them lol.

I don't want to change out my rear gear so probably won't do well in the 1/4. But we get in the low 10s I will be happy.

I'm with you on that man. I think spending $$$ on bearings and rings and rod bolts is a waste for a junkyard/stockshortblock deal.

Especially one thats gonna kick a rod in 3-5 passes lol
