Holy crap... The first time I read this I though it said like 40whp or something. I was like, Meh, whatever.

Then I read that somebody quoted you and I actually read the 4psi... then I LOL'd.

He picked up 4psi because the ls6 was more of a restriction.

We're obviously talking from experience and real world data. That intake isn't nearly as good as a Vic or Vic JR. They get VERY hot and heat soak horribly....I dare you to try and work on it after driving the car....with the composite manifold I can work on it right away. It also doesn't run the O-Ring seals...it has the standard style composite gasket. We switched for a reason....The edelbrock intakes don't seem to heat soak nearly as bad but they also have a lot more R&D put into them.

What kind of data? Show me this "data" you speak of.

What intake doesnt use o-rings? The Victor Jr. does use o-rings bud.

Double dog dare me to work on my car after I drive it. Double dog me!

That's not a vic JR and where not talking about a vic Jr. That's a professional products intake and they don't run a O-Ring style seal....they use a traditional composite standard gasket. The Vic Jr intake is better then that one and the LS6 for that fact. I ran one of them for awhile and it sucked....it would heat soak so bad the car would pull timing....I dynoed it with the professional products intake and then the LS6 and it did much better as the car didn't have to pull timing and the IAT's went down.

I realize the Pro Products intakes use regular gaskets per the post I wrote that you were referring to earlier. You were talking about a Vic Jr, so I assumed that's what you were referring to. I have run a Vic Jr and now run a Pro Products intake. The Vic has the ability to cool with the individual runners.
To the OP, if heat soak concerns you, run water/meth and keep your intake.

Yea I was just referring to the professional products intake...I don't have a vic JR so I don't know lol...just know they flow well and are a good intake. I had vacuum/boost leaks and just a ton of problems with it...it's a head ache lol

Probably picked up 4 psi because it stopped leaking out the POS intake.

Thats what i was thinking also.. Luckily mine seems to be sealed. Did you have your IAT sensor mounted in the intake itself or in the charge piping? I did originally mount it in the intake, but moved it thinking it would heat soak the sensor. It runs great as is and i will be runnig meth next spring and more boost/timing. Its getting coooollldd here in Minnesota, snow it soon to come. Might be time for hybernation.... F MN!

This ^^^^ most likely is in fact what happened. I think compgto was just joking around saying that the ls6 was more restrictive and thus picked up 4psi.

One thing I think some people might be missing here is it's a 8.5 to 1 motor with 347ci. So that explains the little lag issues and lil lower numbers. But even at that that's some solid numbers. So congrats man!

Timing is only at 14 degrees at 6400 rpm. He hadnt started playing with the timing before we had to quite... Im sure he is going to be able to get the turbo spooling quicker and get some more horses out of it at 12 psi. Anyone have a guess what it will make a 15-16psi with proper timing?
