Default 370 s91 th400 with a 3400 stall?

As my build gets closer to finishing up I need some advice on a stall converter. There is a rebuilt 3800 converter that was re-stalled to 3400 to make it tighter and I was wondering if this is the one for me. With my goal for the car is to make close if not a little over 1100rwhp, and will see some street action but more track time if anything. So any advice will be helpful as this is my first Turbo build.

I was running a py3400 and it was a bit too loose for me at just under 800 rwhp. I'm gonna send it back to Yank and get it tightened for my next setup. Probably get it restalled to 2800-3000?

What size is the converter? (9.5" ?)

I would go atleast 4400 with that big boy on a 370ci. A quality converter like an FTI will still feel tight at part throttle.

Damn I should have kept my yank 4400 stall that I used for my nitrous set up then. O well, when I started this build my goal wasnt anything compared to what it has become. I was told a tight 3600 to 3800 stall would be the most sufficient about a year ago.

I'm running a py3400 and it is very tight at 832whp. I think that you will have a hard time spooling it though. Will prob want something in the 4000's. Dave@yank will hook you up. Your going to need an 11" converter for that kind of power.

Wow, that seems really high. Is that billet or something. For a 1Kish rwhp converter, it should be under $1,000 unless you asked for something really special that is not needed at that power level.

Im runing a 408 with an s91 and my 4l80e with a tight ProTorque 3800 converter and I couldnt be more happier with it. It cost me about 850 or so and its worked great so far. Also if you would like to get another opinion on what converter to run ask Midwest Chassis what they run with
their s91 setup.
