procharger timming

Default procharger timming

look at my sig my compression is 10.74 and I know its high but im pushing 15 pounds of boost peak a d1 with 3.4 pulley (since i put on aster bracket i picked up like 3 psi ). My timming was at 19 on wot this is too high right? I will get meth but money is a little tight right now. what timming do you think I should be at to keep it safe and together? i was thinking like 16 or 15 dont care about power till the track opens up anyway no traction at all on the street.

If your fueling is good, and your air/fuel ratio is in the low 11 high 10 region, I guess it depends on if you're seeing knock or not. You have a forged motor, so you should be ok with high teens for timing. I have my timing in the 13-15 range, but I'm on a stock shortblock.

my fuel is about 12.4 afr wot. I heard it was bad to run the motors to rich cause the fuel gets up under the rings and pops the rings up. or is that really rich condition?

if your on pump gas you better add fuel 11:5 to 11:7 15 -16 * sounds fine. are you data logging it? I think you are on the verge of costing yourself a lot of money if you keep running it the way it is.

You're way to lean! 11.5/1 above 5000 rpm is about where you should be, and somewhere around 18 degrees of timing, but that depends on spark knock. I'd get it retuned right away before you take out a piston. Bob

This is almost dead on to where mike Norris tuned mine at. ~11.5afr and 18* timing all on 93 octane. made great power for only 5.5-6psi

You are going to blow that thing up. 10.5:1 here, WITH METH, 15-16psi, and only 16 degrees timing. Motor would be a paperweight w/o the meth.

I run right around 11.5:1 AFR with 19* with methanol...I also only have 91 octane around here. I wouldn't get on it until you get her retuned.

8.5:1 d1sc-h, stock 241 heads, ecs small blower cam, 17-18 pounds with meth 22 degrees above 5500.. 11.3-11.5 afr
