procharger does not recommend it, they said it will pull the input shaft out of it

Whats a ds 1? Did you mean D1sc? If so, like stated above, it's not recommended. The transmission was not designed for it. I've heard of guys getting away with it using that sprag type pulley, but its expensive.

So a Cog increases tension on the pulley? I wouldve thought the opposite, mind you i know nothing about superchargers other then what i read...

I honestly thought a cog wouldnt add any extra tension????

I dont know if it really pulls any harder on the input shaft but the trans. is not built strong enough to hold the no slip cog belt, from what I understand is that a serp. belt allows some slip if you have to peddle the car where a cog belt jerks back and forth on the trans
breaking the blower

Correct. That is why most of the high hp stick cars get flip drives or dedicated pulley systems for the blower.

Aussies have been using cogs on Vortech for years.

And didnt Bob offer a cog setup for the Procharger last year ?

As far as I know, everyone who bought our old cog drive kit used them with F series blowers.

The cog belt places less tension on the pulleys, as you don't crank them down nearly as tight. However, under heavy throttle use you would be surprised at how a cog belt system wants to yank the blower right off the bracket. I found it amazing how much more wot power we had in the mid range with my Z28 when we swapped it over to a cog system. (This was before the days of the Aster bracket.) We did not know we had mid range rpm belt slippage until we swapped to the cog, it became a whole different beast. Before we added braces to the bracket, you could watch the bracket really move around while doing a pull on the dyno.

ProCharger does not recommend a cog system on any D-1SC, the torque that is applied to the blower is much greater than it is with a serpentine belt. Bob
