Default ATI or RADIX

im torn between getting the ATI D1SC with 3 core or the magnacharger radix, im leaning more towards ati, runs moreboost, less harsh on drivetrain because it makes mid and high end power, this is for a rcsb silverado 5.3

Being an ATI owner, I'd go radix. The ATI is capable of putting out more boost, but on these trucks it seems like 12 psi is about the limit of the 6-rib setup. Thats WITH a Reichard Racing ultragrip pulley.

Also, to go fast in a heavy truck with the ATI, you need a big stall to get you out of the hole.

I'd say the Radix at 10psi with a small stall would be as fast or faster than the ATI at 12 psi with a bigger stall.

With the ATI you have to buy bigger injectors, and get it tuned. The Radix is more plug and play, it comes with injectors and tuning.

Don't get me wrong, the ATI is nice, but it just has issues that need to be worked out, where the Radix doesn't.

im not really wanting to "get out of the hole" that bad, cuz i dont want to blow the tranny or rear end, im lookin more from like rolls and stuff and highway speeds, and the D1SC can make more boost with a larger pulley

My ATI blew the tranny in 6000 miles.

Yeah, you could probably get a little more out of a D1SC.

Just from experiance, the ATI falls flat on its face at the bottom of a shift on the highway, without a big stall. Do you plan on a big stall with that ATI?

If you repost this in the truck section, you'll get alot more responses. Theres more Radix guys that hang out there.

actually no i dont plan on a stall at all, i planned on doin some tranny upgrades, like new clutches, servos, **** like that, i just want to have a very streetable truck that when somethin wants to go, i can run it and do some whippin, and the thing bout the radix is that it is constantly there, where the ati drives normal till gas is applied.

The RADIX kit has been very popular. It will allow you to bolt on 130+hp out of the box and provide more power in the lower RPM range. ATI makes a good system but the RADIX will work better on a heavy truck. You'll be doing very well if you go down a few pulley sizes and go with a custom program if you would like to fine tune the combo. The ATI kits tend to require some additional tweeking if you want to up the boost. The Magnuson kit has been easier to tune.

Hope this helps,
Tom

ya it has helped, im now trying to decide between radix and the single turbo from cm... im going go with a new fully built tranny so im not too worried about blowing the trans, i just want to have a fast **** on my hands without blowin the motor.. and yes i have started to see the hidden costs with the ati, radix is more plug and play where ati is plug play tune fidget upgrade which all costs $$$
