Boost Controller
Boost Controller I have read that the boost controller can only increase boost to double what the waste gate spring is. Yet others have said it can be raised by 0-15 psi on top of the waste gate spring.
Which is it?
Lets say I have a 5lb WG spring and want 20 psi. Can a BC get me there or would I need to switch to a 20lb spring first.
Also, on my old setup the WG was hooked to the compressor housing but was told I could hook it to the brake booster(vacuum source) to get the boost I was loosing through the intercooler. Unfortunately, I have read that you shouldn't hook up the WG to a vacuum source but only to a boost source or it destroys the diaphragm.

It depends. I worked with some boost controllers that I was only able to raise boost 3-4 psi, swapped to a better one and was able to raise it 12 psi. Also it will depend on the backpressure in the system. There are some people running tiny backsides that I have heard had to use pressurized C02 at 30-40 psi just to hit 15 psi.
So there is really no solid answer. My advice is get a wastegate spring kind of close to what you want to run.

I'm running a 10lb wastage spring and I'm able to reach a maximum of 23.5PSI in that area. Tial Wastegates with an electronic boost controller. I'm swapping out mine for 15lb springs since I'm pushing it to 25PSI for 2012. Boost controller is the Innovative MSBC-1 controller with launch control and ramp functions. 8 stage settings.

The Black Hemi in my sig has a Comp 80/79 .96 AR w/Tial F38 WG and a STS dual-stage boost controller.
The 2010 Camaro has two Garrett/HTA 3586's 1.03 AR w/2 Tial MVS-R 44mm WG and a AEM Tru-Boost. I was hoping to have 7psi(WG spring) for normal driving then about 11psi(Setting A) and 15(setting B) for all out drag racing.

I had a cheap Ebay waste gate with a 7lb spring. I could only get up to 18psi before I had to jump to a 15lb spring. 15lb spring allowed me to go up to 30psi, but didn't try any higher than that.
Boost controller was an AEM solenoid controlled by the AEM EMS.
