Quick question... GEN III vs. GEN IV block for a FI build?? I have a O7 LY6 and a 01 LQ4 to build a FI 408 from but im wanting to build my dad a quick re-ringed iron 6.0 with LS3 heads and i think the 07 would be better to re-ring due to less miles! The LQ4 i have has 200k + on it which doesn't matter for the 408 build since its going to be bored anyways. So..... my question is do you guys see any issue with me using the older 01 LQ4 block for a D-1SC 408 build vs. me using the 07 LY6 block? Any big issues with the older block? Its going in a 03 Silverado SS too so it would be easier to use the older block from a year stand point? Thanks in advance guys!!

It was yeah, im just building my dad a fun motor he can go to the track with and have a good time, im thinking the LY6 with VVT/DOD delete, LS2 front cover and timing chain set, LS3 valley cover, LS7 lifters, stock LS3 heads, L92 truck intake and a custom grind truck cam, should be a runner?
