There may be 50+ threads but I havent seen anyone make 850 900 whp. But everyone is using tc 78mm I haven't seen anyone use any of the race units. I'd like to know what is the best 78mm turbo to make big power. Like 850+ if it's even possible.

JY 5.3 billet 76mm 24.5lbs 855rwhp in my rx7, I'm sure would be closer to 875rwhp with some smaller tires and aired up, just had 8lbs in the 33x22.50's.

That's what I want to see. I'd like to see small frame turbos make big power!

You'll have a better chance using a 5.7 or smaller bore to meet your goals. Larger CI engines will most likely max out a 78mm before 800rwhp.

So your saying that a 6.0 would max out a gtm 78mm or a super T 78mm or equevilant?

Im no expert but i think they would be maxed out in the 750-850rwhp range with a well flowing 6.0.

are you set on 78mm turbo? a 78 will probably get 700-800 but youll need a 80+mm for 900hp

If I didn't need to stand the radiator up I'd do a 80mm or bigger

I'm using a PT7875 with my own manifolds and am over 1k hp at the crank. Motor is a forged 370, stock 317 heads, E85. Search my name and you can find my build threads.

Is your turbo maxed out? I forget, what psi are you running at?

Didn't look like it was maxed from the dyno. Was still gaining over 20rwhp per lb when I stopped around 19.5psi.

Its going to be rather difficult to fit that PT7875 in there without standing up the radiator. It's bigger than you might think.

Difficult yes, But very doable... you will most likely need to run different radiator fans.

Precision 7675 (76gts) is not much bigger than a TC76 at all. About 1/2" bigger diameter on the compressor cover and the same size on the hot side. The GTM and Super T have the same issue as the TC units, the 68mm exhaust turbine wheel is restrictive. The precision unit is hard to beat for it's size but it's not the most powerful 76mm. That would probably be a GT 4776 style turbo or the new bw 476.

Here are two m6 cars with a PT76, one is 15.5lbs and the other is at 18lbs.
