Need alittle help
Need alittle help In a week or so im going to pick up a bare lq9 block,and I will be stroking it out to a 408 I was wondering what are best rods,pistons,and crankshaft do go with?
People will have to know your goals to be able to tell you what would be "The best".

I'd go with this... https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...rankshaft.html it is plenty good for supporting 800 horse... I bought the same thing for my car and am planing 1000rwhp on e85. I also think it would work better with the turbo you picked above. I'm no turbo expert though I haven't even bought mine yet. But it seems like everytime I see a 408 it has a 91mm of some sort. But the 390 has 1/10 more journel overlap due to the smaller stroke. The pistons are custom made for a bigger top ring land so it can handle detonation better and absorb extra heat. Also shorter stroke will help the rings last longer. If you click the link it has pics that will explain everything I just said. Good luck!
