IMO it depends on the turbo size, transmission and tune but yes it will feel slower under 3000rpm than N/A setup

No it won't unless you have a bad combo, afterall it is possible to **** anything up given a tight enough budget and/or poor combo or execution.

A rear mount enables an extremely free flowing exhaust system and intake system because there should not be any tight bends required. Meaning it is possible to have less back pressure and pressure drop than a typical front mount. Therefore the power lost from loss of kinetic energy from exhaust temp drops (around 400F) can be regained to some extent.

A good rear mount will beat a bad front mount. However if a front mount is designed well with low pressure drop and back pressure - it will be likely superior - though the difference is not as large as some people might think.

Back to the question: If an auto, any turbo loves a mild converter. That increased stall speed will put you right on the money every time you nail it. I gained power off boost with the turbo setup due to improved breathing - my new dyno graphs do not go under the old at any point.

....having said that, a turbo on a tight budget - mix and matching off e-bay - well, has all the hallmarks of a mixed result at best unless you really know what you are doing.

Where budget is tight a regular bolt on blower kit is likely to give better results for the money. My 2 cents

EDIT: Just read your results - sounds like you have a clue - good job, well done - enjoy

Synapse BOV, (besides having no diaphragm) will stay open on light throttle and get rid of intake restriction until manifold pressure starts to increase. A very nice feature of a lightning fast bov.
