Thinking About A S/C For My Hawk ?

Default Thinking About A S/C For My Hawk ?

So as the title sayes I`m thinking about a S/C for my 99 firehawk with an MP122kitt , but I was wondering about any other parts I may need If I go this route instead of going with H/C intake ect . . . So my car is close to stock except for full exhaust & tune & suspension ( list of mods in sig ) the car is only a weekend cruiser but still want to keep it streetable , it might at some point of its life go to a track & it has around 90xxx miles .

Should I look into things like a new rearend ? torq converter ? externel trans cooler ? stuff like that Before I go to S/C it ?

BTW If I go with a S/C it will probobly be the last mod to the engine , No H/C I just figure its more power fo less work LOL .

I bought my kit on here used from a well known member with a good trader rating. I ordered the racetronix pump and hot wire kit with some flow matched 60's from a sponsor, I installed it all, and had it dyno tuned. I changed the blower pulley to set the boost @9lbs, kept the shift points @6000RPM and the rest is history as they say. BTW I installed evrything @ 172k and it just turned over 191k, so mileage dosent necessarily have to be the sole deciding factor if the cars in good shape IMHO. Keep the RPM's, boost, and tune decent and it should be good to go for a while. I have the stock engine, converter, trans, and rearend with 3.23'sI do get on it several times a week but I dont, however, light em up at every light I get a chance to.

Thanks for the awesome reply JRENIGAR ! just what I needed to know I`m basicly in the same boat with a stock engine,trans,rear & I don`t beat the **** out of my car . Down the road I`ll upgrade of course but I was thinking of a new rear before the S/C but it I think it will hold for awhile yet . I`m looking at the Hawks Third Gen Kit @ 8PSI & 450+ RWHP why not !! Plus Holden HSV`s/LSX`s sound so sick with a S/C !
