Need help with LS2 Build! Please come in.. Okay i picked up an LS2 out of a corvette with all the accessories, intake to oil pan. Motor was knocking. My goal is to make 800RWHP. Thats the high side maxed out. every day use will be pullied down to make about 650rwhp. I want to use the stock crank, mainly because ive seen some guys on here have NO trouble @ 1000HP and i have it already. I do want to upgrade the rods and pistons, with a stock crank what size rods do i need to get? Ive heard alot of good things about Weisco pistons so im wanting to run them as well. I know that i have to have the blocks bore checked out before ordering the pistons. This is what im looking to do:
LS2 block
Stock Crank
Rods?
Weisco pistons
Ls9 Camshaft (before everyone starts to flame the camshaft, i have my reasons)
243 heads with PRC Springs
TVS2300 Supercharger
things im unsure about:
What kind of timing chain is best?
Is ls7 Lifters good enough for this build?
get rid of stock rockers? go Aftermarket?
Anything you guys can think of that will help me out please feel free let me know!
Edit: With this head, what dish piston do i need to make the compression street friendly? What compression is typical for a street driven boosted motor?

Look into some Callies rods for that much power in a build. A good Comp timing chain will work for this. I would get some better lifters like Morels or the Lunati tie bar lifters. The new Comp pro magnum rollers would be good or some Yella Terra's. The stockers with the trunion upgrade has been a good option these days.
Try to get the compression around 9-9.5:1 that way its not too sluggish off boost.

Get a good set of I beam rods I have k1 rods they are a good rod and not too pricey
Ls2 chain or if you got the cash the IWIS timing chain
I run stock lifters and have in everything I've built along with stock rockers with the trunion upgrade.
I run 243 heads with ls9 gaskets and a -15cc piston cr is right around 9.5 -9.6.1

most wiescos for that bore are set up for 6.125 rods to come in at a few thou under stock deck hieght. i have some -11cc wiesco 4.005 and k1 6.125 billit hbeams with a stock crank going in my ls2 block. i am going turbo looking for 1k rwhp through a set of lsa heads. good luck. my only concern with your setup is torsiona loads on the snout of the crank. might wear bearings sooner. i would recomend a main stud girdle on that block. pm me for more info.
