Default custom cam for procharged ls3

This is a 6 speed trans am and this will be 95% street car. Anyway..you guys running on the street where would you guys advise me to have the peak shift rpm at when i get my custom cam made? I would like to tell him i want a 7000rpm shift point but i had heard that it would make the valvtrain unreliable. Any advise appreciated...

Stock rockers and hyd. lifters?
I would turn your shift light on around 6700 to catch the shift by 7000, I would def. not turn any harder than 7k with stock rocker/lifters

honestly I would not attempt to purchase lifters and rockers to turn higher than 7k... There is really no need to spin the motor that high.

your stock stuff should hold up to 7k but not much harder, you will start getting pump up on the lifters. if you want spin much harder you need to look into a solid set up then you can spin as high as you want

just because the cam says 6500 doesnt mean the car will stop pulling, there are all kinds of things that I factor in but if it was me I would spec the cam out to around 6800-7k.
Stock rod bolts? I would be more worried about that then valve terrain at 7k with the extra power going through the rods.
I kept my stock engine down around 6200 at (501 mustang dyno) to the tire. just to help keep the rods in it

I think he said it was fully forged but as the others I as well don't see the need to spin her that high. Your heads will most likely be a bottleneck up in that RPM range. I spin my 370 to 6500 usually. What did the heads flow? I think you'll be supprised at what she'll do at 6500rpm lol
