Holy hell Doug....... that car is going to be insane! I have been following that thread too.

My turbo should be here Tuesday. I ordered up the new 84mm ET-R billet from Forced Inductions, but it's going to look like a baby compared to that thing. Lol . I can't wait to start fabbing things up. Your block and heads are sitting in the car now, just waiting on the pan to get here so I can decide how low and far back in the chassis I want the engine to sit before I start making the hot side.

Hopefully I will see your car back at the track this spring to see how good that billet 80mm runs on a built engine! Let's see an 8 this year!

I am tempted to try out the 94 lol but the Crank won't be thrilled . The billet 480 should really be a nice combo with this 370ci

Typically you back purge with argon or nitrogen which displaces oxygen during the welding process. It helps to keep impurities out of the weld.

It creates a protective barrier to prevent oxygen from polluting the back side of the weld (sugaring)

High tech version of masking tape or tin foil lol. Also it probably prevents flange warp from the heat.

Bolted together like that would also help the thicker piece to absorb some of the heat as well.

Doug has put a bunch of time and money into this thing and now has all of what he needs to push some 8.7's out of it. I know that the engine is back in but will still be a few weeks till he gets it back out n the street.

Got the motor and trans in along with a whole new valve train oil pump timing chain Ligenfelter oil cooler etc.....I just wanted to do everything I could to keep the motor happy. I'm leaving for vacation Tuesday but soon as I get back I'll get the chute on meth kit hooked up and my Leash boost/pulse hooked up and hit the track!!!
