Default Build 347 or 370 for pt7675

So im banging my head off the wall trying to decide what i want to do for a built motor. On one hand i think the slightly less cubes on the 347 will like the turbine better where the 370 may start choking?? I want to make power to atleast 6500 with a built motor.

My main concern is cylinder liner strength. I have seen a few ls1's on here lately with cracked liners and its kinda sketchin me out. I know if i go 6.0 there will be no problem with strength but it may choke the turbo out at the high rpm and i have an extra 80 pounds i dont want on the front end.

My goals 95% of the time are to run around 650 rwhp. Then for dyno days and ***** and giggles turn it up to ~800 or so. Im sure the key to keep the liners alive is no detonation and i am planning to run meth.

My 5.3 is doing awesome i just realize that it isnt going to last forever lol... want to have a motor ready for when i want to change it out... just need to decide on iron or aluminum. actual experiences would be sweet

Just punch out that 5.3 to 3.898 or whatever. I have one that is at 3.903, never had a problem.

either one will do fine id say a 347 would move the turbo more efficiently

I'd personally stick with the 5.3, they make some off the shelf pistons for it too.

spool time is very important to me also because i am a 6 speed. i think before i make any decisions i need to try the .96 hot side on my 5.3 instead of the .81 currently on there to see how much spool difference there is. If it still spools quick i would consider getting a l33 and parting it out for a cheap 5.3 aluminum block with nice beefy liners. I am doing this to avoid a long down time of building an engine, so building the 5.3 in my car right now isnt an option.

but really am i worrying too much about the ls1 liners? are they really as weak as im afraid they are? lol..

i built a forged LS6 , I used the cross breed LS1/LS2 Block,, it was the block they used in the 5.7L GTO's in 2004 , Strong block, from what i hear its basicaly a LS2 with 5.7 holes in it , my block uses LS2 covers front and rear.

callies crank and rods, diamond blower pistons , arp main and head studs , DM performance LSX engine girdle etc,

end result 740/670 RWHP and TQ at 15 psi , pump gas and meth injection
