Default E85.... Thinking of trying it out.

Well, my rear end and suspension will be here in a month. And the weather is starting to get warmer. So its almost car season. I have to purchase my springs/sways and shocks yet and thatll be probably be the most money i dump into the car this year beside little cosmetic things.. I put about $15000 in it last year, and this year i just wanna chill out until im ready to build a motor. with that being said... Im considering switching to E85 late this spring for a little more power and the safety factor, and itd be a pretty inexpensive power gain.

I make 571/467 as of right now at the wheels and im on a stock shortblock. I was just kind of curious what all is involved going to E85. From what ive read, you basically fill the tank with E85, and have it tuned. correct? Im running 60# injectors with a racetronix with hotwire kit.. I also thought about dropping down to a 4.25" pulley from my current 4.38" pulley for a little more boost. Id like to hit 8-9psi. from my current 5.5... Think this would be a good idea? id like to make somewhere arund 620rwhp, and more torque....i want 500+ rwtq.... this car has always made shitty torque for some reason. What do you guys think? am i asking for disaster?

This time next year, ill hopefully have a forged shortblock in my posession. Thanks

60Lbers are gonna be tight but maybe able to support that kind of power. If u got em try em. Ford 80lb inj would be perfect. I went with 110lb injectors reccomended by FIC on my E85 build to support A max1000whp.

def gonna need twinn 255's if yout only using one. You will burn about 30-40% more especially if you have no additional fueling like meth injection.

maybe a spark plug change to but there cheap.

Lots of fuel for e85. I'm running deka 80's at 60psi base, so they come in around 92lb. With two walbro 400's and 8 an feed, 1 to 1 reg, i'm at 105% duty cycle at 22psi on a 76mm. Going by the numbers of the 1/4 and the weight of my truck, i'm around 780 crank.

E85 is insane, if they had more then 4 stations in MD my car would still be on E85 not 93 and meth(this week). The car made almost 100 more rwhp between E85 and straight 93.

I wonder if i could pull it off without changing the pulley. Just run my 5.5-6 but just switch to E85.... Hmmm

You don't have to run E85 strait to get the befits from it. I run it 25% mix E85 with 93 and get most of the gain with out the need of a ton more fuel. Only about 6-7% more. With Deka 60's, (70lbs at 58psi fp) injectors, a single AM340 pump and a 75 wet shot of N2O last weekend on 15psi, I trapped 127mph in my 5500lbs truck. That's right around 800rwhp The truck was lean (12.4afr ) the whole run, but that's cuz i didn't step up the fuel jet for the N2O. Was still jetted for strait gas. On just boost (13psi), it ran 120mph all day at 11.2 afr.

So your running 1 gallon of E85 to every 3 of 93 or the other was around?

Yes, typically when my tank gets low, I go and put 5gal of e85 in it and 15gal of 93 (26 gal tank). Some times it starts to get a little lean or rich on the WB so then I'll "trim" the fuel with a gallon or two of E85 or 93 depending on which way its going to keep it around the 11.2 AFR at WOT I tuned it to when I first converted over to running it mixed.

That 800hp, 15PSI with a 75 shot run I made, had 17.5* of timing and no KR
