Very cool....that offers me some relief. Cometic probably just did not want to say to me that copper coat was needed..but I had heard LPE used it on the TT cars too with Cometics.
You can buy copper coat at any NAPA or similar parts store. I didn't buy the spray even though they had it...I bought the kind that you brush on..my grandfather (retired GM and Ford mechanic) used it forever in the old days..so I bought the same stuff he used. You shake it up in the can and then brush it on. The spray stuff works just the same...I just wanted to be able to control the application a little more. I coated one side of the gasket (block) installed it on the studs...then I coated the head side with the applicator and placed the heads on and torqued them down. The stuff is supposed to be an excellent sealer...I guess I will know here shortly as I will be running 13-16lbs of boost.
good luck getting any, I ordered mine two weeks ago, and called them today. They said the estimated SHIP date was April 1st.!!! Yeah, I'll be looking for a different brand that can actually supply what they sell.
