I have a GT4088R on my 347. with the irght turbine housing it will work really well for what your friend wants. If he is looking to just stay below 5500-6000 he could go with something as small as a 60mm.

What is he using the jeep for?

^^ x2 I agree...

If he wants the turbo to spool fast, he should get the ball bearing 76mm On3 Turbo with the .96 AR.

Also, a cam swap would really help.
LS6 Cam:
'01 LS6 .525/.525 lift, 204/211 duration, 116 LSA
'02-04 LS6 .551/.547 lift, 204/218 duration, 117.5 LSA

or better yet, the LS9 cam upgrade.
211/230 @.050 valve lift and .558/.552 lift with 1.7 rockers and a 122.5 centerline.
See: http://www.lingenfelter.com/LPEforum...read.php?t=502

Best upgrade (my opinion): Thunder Racing: 99-TRLS3-219/236-117

76mm is wayyyyyy too big IMO for this application. It needs to spool much lower than 3k for crawling. I'd guess closer to 60mm would br better.

I think a 76 would be too much for what it's being built for IMO. Doesn't sound like he is going for max power. A mpt 70 on an lq4 was almost instant boost in a friends truck. Basing it in on that, a 60-67mm would be about perfect since you aren't looking to rev it to the moon. Something with a .81 exhaust side.........

A 76 would be stupid big for that motor. 60 or 62 would be all it would ever need.

Instant spool for a crawler would be something VERY small. Low 60s, maybe high 50s....or a PD blower.

i put a 60mm on my 5.3 yukon, has full boost at 1800rpm, why the hell would you put a 76 on it, gosh 76 will make 800rwhp, a 60mm will make 650rwhp easy, just dont get a junk masterpower, call reed at work turbochargers. he will get you a nice borgwarner or garrett.

i spec'ed out a set of twin 52mm to4e's or mitsu 20g's for a lq4 in a jeep, target 8-10psi no IC. I pulled the compressor maps and such and these seemed the best for low rpm spool and tons of torque once into boost.
