turbo kit swapping truck manifolds for shorty headers
I've got a home built 91mm turbo kit on a 408 lq9 with L92 heads on my 1996 caprice and just recently I bough a set of used shorty truck headers with 1.75" primaries and a 2.25" collector outlet that I'm going to port to match my 2.5" mid pipes. I would like to know if anyone thinks I will see any kind of gains over the restrictive truck manifolds. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
And before anybody comments on the stregth of the stock cast iron manifolds vs headers, know that my turbo is self supported by a bracket welded to the frame so the exhaust manifolds supports no extra weight other then their own. Thanks again.

I don't think the truck manifolds are that restrictive in the world of fi. I don't think you will see much of a gain at all. Spend your money somewhere else. People have done over 1k whp with those manifolds.
