stock mustang power rack, just no pump.

we moved the alt to where the tensioner is and used a tractor supply threaded eyelet guy and made our own tensioner, its around a 43 inch 5 rib belt for a VW we use.

we just didnt want to deal with hooking it up and making a relocation bracket.

you can buy a fox body and build an 8.8 for what most people buy a 12bolt for, you are easily dropping 600lbs and the cars are easier to work on.

here is how i did mine, granted this is not the turnbuckle i ended up using, but gives you the idea (had this one laying around so i tested my theory with it). i ended up making a brace that reinforces the bolt that goes through to the tensioner mount that braces it to the other tensioner mount to keep it completely rigid (not shown in the picture)

So your are only using 1 bolt to hold the alternator?

Yeah, a better picture would help, thanks!

The cam having a tighter lobe is actually helping advance the exhaust in this set-up which with the 4.8 and largeish hot side on this turbo versus the c.i. is really going to help get the exhaust gas out of the motor sooner and help spool the turbo.

In this set-up it works very nicely.

Stock head gaskets can take that kind of boost? I have 2 5.3s laying around, is there any difference? I got the Zo6 cam.

ah yes we did but the 100 dollar th400 could not hold the power with teh slicks sticking.

so he is gunna drop it off to get built. it sucks, but after all this there is a new trans and converter in the car. we also have a 5.3 thats laying around we are gunna toss in while we pull the motor and trans for more cubes and power.
