Took her for it's first drive today with the cold side done. This boost comes on like a light switch. I still need to finish up some stuff. I really need to get the hot side wrapped and the turbo blanket on. These truck manifolds hold a ton of heat. Number 7 spark plug wire came off somewhere on the way home. Went over my datalogs and I must have an exhaust leak my wideband is jumping all over the place which isn't good with the self learning. Here is a quick video. After the truck turned I hit 40% throttle and 4psi up to 90mph or so. I haven't checked the speedo yet. I need to get a colder thermostat this one opens at 195 or so. These motors have a ton of valve train noise.

I could see in the log when the plug wire came off. When the wire came off it started jumping from 10:1 to 20:1. Do the swap I will have some more results soon.

Took her for another drive today. It's not cooling so well, I may have to ditch the inter cooler until I can get the waste gate moved and get my new rad in. Looking at the data logs I was using 338lbs of fuel at 8psi which if my math is correct should be around 620hp. Car pulls hard but doesn't spin anymore with the new suspension in it.

Well I took her to the track for the first time. Had some issues with my laptop so I couldn't tweak the tune at all. With my 275/45/17 ET streets she went a best of 11.169@125.9mph on 8ish lbs with 15 degrees timing and 11.5afr. I just can't get the car out of the hole. The best 60' was a 1.747. The car just doesn't start to pull until well after the 60' and that's leaving off the trans brake. Next time out I hope to be able to play with the tune some and get it to leave well. And it will have some slicks on it. I'm not quitting until I get a 10.5ish with the same boost setting. Every 10th in the 60' was worth over 1mph on the big end so if I can get it into the 1.50 sixty foot I should be close. Then I will start cranking the boost up some.
P.S. I had 2 short full throttle pulls on the Holley system before taking it down the track, it started out running 120mph and ended up with 125.9 three passes later. This system rocks.

So I picked up a 6.0 for $400 today. Once I max out this 5.3 I may have to throw the 6.0 in with another mpt70. I got the new aluminum rad in and the intercooler is back on it now. I hope to get it on the dyno soon and then to the track once more before the end of the year.

So I haven't made it back to the track yet but I have been driving the car a bit. She gets no hotter than 183 degrees now. I'm averaging about 23mpg mixed driving. I just tried going to 15.3 afr at cruise to see what improvement I get. I'm loosing about 2psi through the inter cooler. Only seeing 142kpa on the 9psi spring. I have a dyno appointment coming up so I can tune this thing off the 13 degrees timing I'm running right now.

I don't think my little mpt70 will do much over 14 or 15lbs so I will take it up to there and stop. I really want a mid 10 second pass on 9-10lbs but I need it to hook before I can even think about that.

Well I played with the timing some and according to the data logs the car is pulling through the gears a little quicker and I am losing about 3lbs of boost with the cheap inter cooler that I have. It's much cooler than when I was at the track but the IAT's aren't moving now at all. I can't wait to get this back to the track.

Oh I'm going to crank it up. I'm just pumped that it's pulling harder with some timing in it with less boost. Once I get the boost back up it should really fly. I think I may get my 10.50 at 9psi out of her now.

Just got off the rollers. Put down 504rwhp/670lbft at 8.6lbs . More details and graph to follow. Added one degree of timing and the car made 10 more horsepower but lost over 50ftlbs.
