On the V... yea, no doubt.
Im always saving money for the next catastrophe as well.. 6300+ for a rear end fix alone, then add the LS9x clutch for another 1400, really sucks.

Depending on if you are using the GTO bracket or the corvette for the V.
The biggest blower you will get in there is the D-1SC if your using the GTO main bracket. The F-1A is 5/8" thicker (i think, i have the actual number at home). Meaning you would have to cut through the strut tower to get some sort of inlet tube up to it. I decided to avoid that route.

Its interesting to see someone rebuild their own.... Most i have done is the simple re-clocking.

Well I got the output shaft and impeller out and the seal and bearing replaced. I'm gonna press the inner output shaft bearing on tomorrow and hopefully throw it all together tomorrow night. I'll document everything for a future "sticky" maybe.

I had to get crafty for a fixture to press the impeller off the shaft. It was hilarious but it worked well...

May have already been said but stick the head unit in the freezer and the impeller in the oven at 400deg. After about 30 they will slip together very nicely. That's how I did my v7 ysi

Head unit is in the freezer as we speak, all seals are in and am cleaning everything up one last time before reassembly tomorrow.

I had to have my machine shop pull the oil slinger bearings. Didn't have any access to anything small enough for them...
