They make more power, its just tougher to keep them together if you insist on pump gas.
We see more "I made XXX HP" posts then "I drove over my pistons" posts so I think the "keep it together" part gets understated on the internet.
When I swapped my head from a 10.7 to an 8.25 my N/A HP dropped from around 415 to 385. So I lost about 8%. I always tell folks rule-o-thumb is 3% per compression point.
Nice numbers on the F1A btw.

Yea good question! I'm in the middle of building my new motor on paper to have it done within the next 5 months or so. Now that I've read this and since I was going to switch to E-85 anyway, I think I'm going to target 10.5:1 for static and I'll choose my cam wisely. I should be done over here for awhile in Dec so then its time to play with the cars lol

Well we finally found enough time between my schedule and the tuners to get the Trans Am tuned on 16.5psi. The first couple pulls were not impressing at all 777.74rwhp 756.8rwtq and the boost seemed to come in and then taper off so I decided to hold my hand under the right front where the 66mm wastegate is mounted and make a pull to see if it was holding boost and it wasn't. So we decided to put more boost on top of the gate with the AMS 1000 and see if we could make it hold and it did hold 16.5 psi and we made 927 rwhp and 834 rwtq on 93 oct + meth and it was still bleeding boost so we are going to order the co2 kit to help keep the gate closed and hopefully break 1000 rwhp.
